The Sweet Beauty Story & Our Team

Sweet Beauty Esthetics began humbly in 2019 when Alyssa started offering beauty services from her home, fueled by a passion for helping clients feel confident and celebrated. She noticed that many people couldn’t find a place where they felt truly safe and welcome. Determined to change that, she created an environment where every client feels like they’re catching up with old friends while receiving top-notch care.

In January 2020, Sweet Beauty moved into its first one-room professional space—a small but exciting step forward. By September 2020, the business expanded to a larger location on Lancaster St., where Alyssa built a warm and professional space, growing her client base and welcoming talented team members to keep up with demand.

The team now includes Sarah M, who joined in August 2022, bringing expertise in lash lifts, brow lamination, and other signature services. Sarah E came on board in December 2022, adding her unique waxing skills and vibrant personality to the team.

In November 2024, Sweet Beauty Esthetics moved to its current home on Glasgow St — a larger and more welcoming space that better reflects the warm, down to earth environment clients have come to love. As Alyssa prepares for her maternity leave, the team has continued to grow, welcoming Maddie as a part time receptionist and Aimee as an esthetician in September 2025. Sweet Beauty Esthetics has become more than just a beauty bar — it’s a place where every body is celebrated, cared for, and truly welcomed.

  • Sarah Mills

    ESTHETICIAN

    Hi, I’m Sarah Mills, and I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2015. My journey began with body sugaring while I completed nursing school, eventually becoming a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in 2020 and working as a home care nurse. In 2022, I joined Sweet Beauty Esthetics, where I expanded my skills to include lash lifts, brow laminations, waxing, spray tans, ear piercings, and laser treatments. Now, I specialize in lash lift and tints, brow lamination and tints, spray tans, and body sugaring.

    What I love most about my work is connecting with clients during their services and ensuring they feel well cared for. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the confidence radiate from a client when they catch a glimpse of their fresh brows after a lamination or their glowing skin post-spray tan.

    Outside of the salon, I love spending time with my two skinny pigs, Olive and Ruby, or re-watching Grey’s Anatomy (for the fourth time!) with a stash of gummy bears by my side. I also enjoy cross-stitching, and you can even find some of my work for sale at the shop!

    ESTHETICIAN

    Hi, I’m Sarah Ellard, one of the estheticians here at Sweet Beauty Esthetics. My passion for esthetics lies in creating tailored experiences that leave clients feeling confident, cared for, and completely satisfied. Whether it’s enhancing a natural feature or simply helping someone feel at ease, my goal is always to ensure clients leave happier than when they arrived.

    Outside of the salon, I enjoy spending time with my big family of nine siblings and my beloved cat. I’m an active, adventurous soul who thrives on movement and the outdoors—whether it’s yoga, pilates, running (I proudly completed my first half marathon last year!), playing hockey, or hitting the slopes for snowboarding.

    At Sweet Beauty Esthetics, I strive to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for every client. My priority is that each visit feels like a safe space, leaving you with a smile and looking forward to your next appointment with me.

  • Maddie Hancock

    RECEPTIONIST

    Hi, I’m Maddie, the part time receptionist here at Sweet Beauty Esthetics. You might see me at the front desk from time to time, greeting you with a smile, helping with bookings, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. I love being part of such a welcoming and empowering team where every day feels positive and uplifting.

    What I love most about working at Sweet Beauty is the supportive energy of the women around me and how the beauty industry inspires confidence and self-care. It is so rewarding to see clients leave feeling their best after each visit.

    Outside of the salon, I’m a total night owl who runs on grande sugar free vanilla iced lattes. I love relaxing with a good book (I’m currently reading the ACOTAR series) and listening to my favorite band, Beach House. If I could hop on a plane tomorrow, I’d be heading somewhere tropical without a second thought. And for the record — I’m 100 percent a cat girl.

  • Aimee Cornish

    ESTHETICIAN

    Hi, I’m Aimee Cornish, and I’m so happy to be part of the team at Sweet Beauty Esthetics. I’ve always had a love for the beauty industry and for helping people feel confident and cared for. My approach is calm, detail oriented, and focused on creating a relaxing experience for every client.

    At Sweet Beauty Esthetics, I currently offer waxing, tinting, and lash lifts — including our newest service, the Korean Lash Lift, which is quickly becoming a client favourite. Brow laminations and spray tans will be coming soon as I continue to expand my skills.

    Outside of the salon, I’m a proud mom of two teenagers and love spending time with my family, visiting local favorites like Gyubee, and sipping on a Starbucks chai latte.

    Fun fact — Alyssa and I actually met years ago when I became her nail tech, and she still drives all the way to Cambridge to see me to this day. I’m so excited to be part of the Sweet Beauty family and can’t wait to see you at your next appointment.

Hi, I’m Alyssa, the owner and esthetician behind Sweet Beauty Esthetics. My journey in the beauty industry began when I was about a month away from my eighteenth birthday, fueled by a passion for helping others feel confident and cared for in their own skin. Now 27, Sweet Beauty is the culmination of that dream — a beauty bar built on genuine care, top notch service, and an appreciation for the beauty in every individual.

My love for esthetics goes far beyond treatments. For me, it’s about the personal connections and thoughtful details that make each visit special. Whether it’s creating a custom experience for a client or ensuring they leave feeling better than when they arrived, my passion lies in making people feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Outside of Sweet Beauty, I share my life with my partner Ben and our three furry companions Kaiser, Akira, and Nova. We’re also excitedly preparing to welcome our first baby in December 2025 — a new chapter that means even more reason to nurture and grow this space I love so much. When I’m not at the salon, you’ll find me in the garden growing fruits, veggies, and herbs, or wandering local markets to support other small businesses and creatives.

Sweet Beauty Esthetics has become more than just a business for me — it’s a community. Every client who walks through our doors helps support not just my dream, but the incredible women who make up this team and the little family we’re building along the way. I’m endlessly grateful for everyone who chooses Sweet Beauty and helps us continue creating a space to unwind, laugh, and truly be yourself.
